CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- On Wednesday, Jeff Gordon announced that wife Ingrid Vandebosch is pregnant.
"We're obviously very excited," Gordon said in a statement that appeared on his Web site. "Christmas came early for us this year.
"This is a very special gift for us -- one that we're both looking forward to. The due date is early July, and Ingrid and I can't wait to be parents.
"We've known for a little while, but we couldn't wait any longer to share the good news with our friends and fans."
Gordon, 35, married Vandebosch in a small, private ceremony in Mexico on Nov. 7.
Gordon and Vandebosch have been together since 2004. They appeared in the movie Taxi, in which the 37-year-old model played a bank robber and Gordon made an uncredited cameo appearance at her invitation.
Gordon announced his engagement to Vandebosch in Sonoma, Calif., in June and then won the Nextel Cup race the next day.


As bad as I hate the man.... I'll have to give congrats... Hope there is no trouble with the pregnancy.

First thing that popped into my head when I read the due date. It must have been a heck of a honeymoon.

Actually, by my calculations, she would have been approximately a month pregnant when they got married...

Hmm...do you think they'll schedule the delivery via C-Section so there's not a chance of Jeff missing the Pepsi 400?

Not a fan of Gordon's , but I do have to say congratulations and hope everything goes well with the pregnancy and everything.

For the sake of mom, I hope the babys head isnt as big as daddys, or birthing may be a bit difficult.

I'm happy for her-even though she is married to the Gordo-just joking so no one get mad! I hope the baby has an upper lip-I'm referring to Gordo because he doesn't have one. Someone else said she isn't wasting time-well she better not, but I hope he signed a prenup this time! I think she will be good for him. Gordo seems happier and does better on the track.

Hmmm...? I never noticed the lack of a upper lip. Must be a female thing? Maybe Jeffie-Pooh should ask Angelina Jolie who her plastic surgeon is? He seems to have a handle on giving people impossibly large lips.

It must be... My mind boggles with the possible reasons some seemingly intelligent person would want their lips to resemble the business end of a misshapened toilet plunger?

Of course, that is coming from an old guy who is still mystified that anyone would get up in the morning, look in the mirror and think, "Gee. How can I make myself even more unemployable today?" Then go out and get conspicuous tattoos and enough piercings on their face that they look like they fell face-first into some one's fishing tackle box.
