What Happened to Tony Stewart? This is a great question. Tony didn't finish the race for the first time in 31 starts. Considering his performance at Daytona last week, what kind of chance does Stewart have in the cup race? Will his team pick it up?

Oh please...one blown engine in a year and we're going to write Tony off? I'd say he was due an engine problem. Of course you may want to note that he was one of the fastest cars all day! Did you happen to notice how calm he was after that happened? I'd have to say if he isn't worried about it, everyone else better be! Go get em Tony! Hey nice job JJ Yealy!

What happened to Tony Stewart? You better not count out Tony. He is not my favorite driver but he sure can win. I know ya'll will laugh but I like Gordon, and Jimmy. I just don't see Gordon trying to win races anymore though. He looks like he is trying not to lose. At least Jimmy is going after it.

Re: What Happened to Tony Stewart? Yes. Yes it is. But Stewart has alienated so many people that it's easy to feel all satisfied when he suffers a setback. I hate to use the old karma argument, but the Tin Man is right...sometimes it does seem that what goes around, comes around. Maybe he'll learn a little humility. Nah....

Re: What Happened to Tony Stewart? Big Tony fan here..((duck)). I don't think the blown engine is in any way indicative of how his year's going to shape up. He's a great driver and if he can hold himself together he'll have another great year.

Re: What Happened to Tony Stewart? While I think Tony is truely talented, I also think he still hasn't resolved those anger issues. I had so much respect for the Tony of 05 but now it seems as if he has returned to the hothead he was

Re: What Happened to Tony Stewart? Let's review! Tony knocks Kenseth off the track one week, then Kenseth is 1st the next week and Tony is 43rd and there was no contact between the two. If that's not a good argument for Karma, I don't know what would be a better one.

Re: What Happened to Tony Stewart? You know I find it curious that it's been decided by many here and by the media too that "the old Tony is back" after one hot headed day. The more Zen like Tony seemed to have resurfaced at Calfornia. I say keep watching him- the "old Tony" is NOT back.

Re: What happened to Tony Stewart? I agree with you...Gordon is not as energetic as he used to be...the loss of Evernham was what I percieved as the beginning of his lethargic driving habits...that, and the loss of the Million Dollar races that Winston was so great about..."no bucks, shucks!" Call me a cinic, but Gordong and Johnson almost look like brothers !! Anything to that? D.E. liked Gordon...helped him a lot and gave him a ton of crap too! I just can't warm up to him, though. Had the opportunity to be on a fishing boat (15 others) with Dale back in '95 in Homer, Alaska...spent all day with him, Childres and flight crew looking for halibut...during that outing, (over 9 hours), I was able to "pick their collective brains" about who, what and stuff...the thrill of my life! Neither of them had much use for Spencer, though. As to Tony? Way too much D.E. in him to let a couple of early races to get to him...not only will he be back...he will be in front before long...his pure 'will' is what makes him a little different than many of the drivers. Sure would like to see Martin take a Championship, tho.
