| Re: ah-oh! PC problems More than likely it has out lived its usefulness. The hfirst thing I would try is to crack the case open and see if the video card (providing it isn't part of the motherboard) is loose. If there is a video card try pushing it back into the slots. I've had them come loose before. That might give you the no signal indication. After that you may have a motherboard, popwer supply or hard drive issue. There are good systems on the market now in the $400.00 range. Give yourself a Christmas gift !!!!

| Re: ah-oh! PC problems Maybe not dead yet. If it seems to start & the PC seems to act like it should (which your description sounds like it is), there might be just some smaller problem. Like 1 link in the chain is broken. 1st thing to try is unattach & then reattach all the cables. Pay special attention to the monitor cable. I'd also try attaching a different monitor. You could have a problem in the monitor cable. Last resort: Before you trash the whole thing & lose your pictures, get someone to help you take the hard drive out & hook it into a different PC. You should be able to save the pictures somehow. Good luck, Ross |
