Junior was never handed anything. It's a fact that Dale Sr gave him very little. Their first race car was shared by him and and his brother K. And they had to work on it not his dad. What he has today, some of it came because of his dad, however he is fast proving he is his own man/driver. He proved that with the good finish at the short track with the busted fender. He's one races without his dad there.
