I thought that it was quite a step up, too. I guess that it's a testamonial to the fact that the kid had some talent. I guess that when daddy's rich AND deeply involved in major league racing; if kiddo wants to play too, all things become possible.

I got in a few laps in one 5-6 years ago on a 3/8-mile asphalt. They are sensitive as Hell, Don. Setting on up must be a real trip. Extremely short wheelbase and they bog down easily in the turns, very low torque. But then, I only ran 10 laps or so and the one I drove might have been a slug? (or, of course it might have been ME??!! "Naaaaw!" - Bob said hopefully)
My guess is that Ricky ran a ton of hot laps at Hickory or some small track like that in daddy's BGN car before he ever tried to run a BGN car on a track with other cars.
