| Harvick and Delana get pushed down According to Bob Dillner ( yeah I know ) there was a shouting match between the Harvicks and a number of Scott Riggs crewman. The alleged pusher warned the Harvicks that they best shut up and be on their way, apparently they didn't take that bit of advice and got pushed down. I wish I could've seen this on TV, seeing that smartass on the ground would've brought a smile to my face. |

| Re: Harvick and Delana get pushed down FORT WORTH, Texas -- An unidentified crewman for Scott Riggs' team knocked driver Kevin Harvick, his wife and a NASCAR official to the ground on pit road Sunday, minutes after the Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. It was apparently in retaliation for an incident late in the race. Harvick was close behind Riggs when the latter crashed while running third on lap 332 of the 339-race event. It appeared Harvick's car took the air off the rear deck of Riggs' car and Riggs was unable to maintain control. Jan McCormick Jr., a public relations representative for Harvick, said Kevin and DeLana Harvick were walking to the infield media center for a postrace interview when two Riggs crewmen made several comments to them. "They were just talking a little smack, which is normal, and then one of them came up and gave Kevin a push in the back," McCormick said. "Kevin fell into DeLana and she fell into a NASCAR official and all three of them fell to the ground." He said the men ran away but Mike Dillon, competitive director for Richard Childress Racing, which fields Harvick's car, went after them and took the man who pushed Harvick to the NASCAR hauler. The Harvicks were not injured, but the NASCAR official, identified as John Sacco, was taken to the infield medical center with what was reported to be a sprained ankle. "Those guys decided they wanted to take matters into their own hands and trip my wife in front of their pit box," Harvick said. "That's a little bit unnecessary, so we're not too happy about that." Team officials for Evernham Motorsports, which fields Riggs' car, said there would be no immediate comment on the situation and NASCAR officials said they were investigating the incident. Hmmm.... seems everything is not well in Na$carland.

| Re: Harvick and Delana get pushed down I don't condone violence, but it would be nice if it knocked her hat off. I am sure nascar will be hard on this because of actual injury to the offical, delena did say she wasn't hurt, according to reports right after the inncident. I wouldn't be surprized if that crewman lost his job, where is the 10 in owner points ???

I usually don't actually get angry at anything in NASCAR, but Harvick's putting Riggs in the wall yesterday made me want to throw something through the picture tube. Then, the lack of anyone questioning Harvick's driving ethics just put icing on the cake. I honestly believe that if one of the Busch's, Robby Gordon, or Mike Bliss would have done what Harvick so blatently did, there would be immediately audences in The Big Rad Trailer with much gashing of teeth and pulling of hair, with "Rough Driving" fines and the ubiquitous "Actions Detrimental to NASCAR" fines handed out like candy at Halloween. Hearing that Ken and Barbie got knocked on their collective asses was the only plus in the whole affair.

harvick and johnson both had good runs on riggs, riggs chose to block harvick which I believe the extra turning to cut down probably added to the loose-ness of the car and started the whole ruckus. JMO. |

Of course, my opinion is coloured by an unfavourable perception I've had of Kevie since the 2004 Watkins Glen race. I fear he'd have to turn a lot of rock into wine before I could ever really take a genuine liking to the kid. |
