What do u think of the chase??

Just wondering as i'm new to this forum, what does everyone think of the chase in the Nextel Cup?
Personally i preferred the old Winston Cup points system cos at the end of the season you knew who the best driver was, with the chase to me its who the luckiest out of a handful of drivers is.
Any thoughts?

Oh you had to ask the question didn't you..... *deep breath*... Personally I liked Winston Cup when it was about racin and only racin. Not corpporate sponsorship, and not focusing on the whinya$$ noncamera shy airheads(excluding Jeff Burton, Mark Martin, Kasey Kahne and Dale Jr). It's caused to much points racin. I hate points racin. They need to take off their pink panties and drive or not be in the hunt for the title. On the same token it's caused some of the most pi$$ poor TV coverage I have ever seen. Dang NBC couldn't cover a floor with a rug. Their canned drama sucks. They only show the chasers. The only time they show nonchasers is if they are involved in wreck in someway, or are close to one of the chasers. Add to the fact that someone sneezing is cause for them to take a commercial break. &%*!#%&^

That's it for now.... I have some grapevines in the back forty that have to be tended to before they sour.

I dont like it because whoever wins the chase will be one of the top 10 guys that had the least amount of bad luck. I believe Tony Stewart has two wins in the chase, and even if he won all 10 would have no chance of winning the Cup. Kenseth is leading in points, with a very lackluster Chase, but has had the least amount of bad luck. In fact, I can't remember him leading any laps. Na$car in general rewards consistency far above winning. And I think the purpose of racing is to win.
You even hear crew chiefs telling their drivers to cruise around in the top five and not go for a win, because they are safe in the points where they are at. THAT IS NOT RACING!

I liked the Winston much better. I dislike the chase I really that its not fair. Example Tony Stewart won it last year and he cant even defend his title. I dont think thats fair at all. But whatever i guess right

well tony just wasn't consistent enough
jeff rides in the top ten for 11 years and he wasn't consistent enough to be in the top ten

I HATE the Chase. Its all about being lucky, not all about EARNING it. You EARNED it under the Winston Cup format. NASCAR brought in the Chase to gain ratings, yet their ratings are still dropping. Bring back the Winston Cup format!

What do I think of The Playoff (a.k.a."Chase")? I try not to.

I prefer to think about when NASCAR was actually about stock car racing and not some "Made for TV" event.
