Dale was a great driver in an era which desparately needed a great driver. He did alot to grow NASCAR's popularity. But, unfortuanely, he tragically left us. His passing and the hand wringing which has followed reminds me of a tee-shirt back when the Titanic was the latest craze. It read" TITANIC It sunk Get over it However, I know that there are alot of contrary opinions out there and I respect them all, and the good people who have them.

| Re: Dale Jr. Switching teams??? I brought this thread back up, cauise it's more on track then the RYR/DEI. someone said that maybe the three would be for kerry's son. I had a thought, you know the #3 was richards before dale, and richard has a grandson running modifieds now, with I think a goodwrench #3 . maybe that where the number will go. just a thought!

| Re: Dale Jr. Switching teams??? I think Jr will do good but I think he needs to do it with his own number. besides with the way they are doing the points now I don't think anyone will match Dale Sr.or Richard petty's 7championships |

| Re: Dale Jr. Switching teams??? As noted by Bob the # is really insignificant. As for doing it on his own merit ???? The #8 was once his Grandfathers number. So now many of you can really see the insignificance of the number. Very few people remember Ralph Earnhardt. Jr. will stay with DEI until it is no longer beneficial to him. Yes he may have some extra feelings about the company but when push comes to shove and someone offers the biger dollar with the possibility of a better team he'd probably make the move in a heartbeat.
