Bobby Labonte out front

Man, I was stoked to see Bobby leading a race for the first time in ages.
Things finally seem to be gelling over at Petty enterprises through a lot of hard work and planning.
And Kyle finishing 10th, what a great weekend for them

....the only downer for me was seeing Kenny Shrader wrecked by the greenhorn otherwise I loved the race!!

Welcome to goteamsgo clutch. We have alot of fun around. Stop by the predictions thread for the weekly contest. I would have to agree with it being very nice to see Bobby up front as well as Kyle finishing in the top ten.

Re: Bobby Labonte out front

It was somewhat of a downer when Bobby left Gibbs but I guess there must have been a reason. It would be great to see him and Petty Enterprises both get a win. Been a long time for both of them. He has always seemed like a good driver and lord knows that the Petty's are overdue. Somewhere along the way the fell out of the technology loop and have a lot of catching up to do.

Re: Bobby Labonte out front

I think they would have been in position to win more if it wern't for a crew chief change in the 1st half, not that it was so bad to lose parott, but just the shake up and distraction it caused, I think the 43 will be a staple in the top 10 next year, and I think chances are good he'll be in the chase next year.they run well this year but just get caught up in other peoples stuff alot.

I think bobby labonte is one of the most respected drivers, along the line of mark martin. bobby does do stupid stuff, he is a class act.

That is probably their biggest problem right now. They are providing him with the best they have. They admittedly are way behind in the advances over the past few years. They need to step up all aspects of their programs to be contenders. A great driver can't do squat if he has nothing under him and the greatest car in the world might as well be sitting in the hauler if the driver is junk. Bobby has proven his abilities and so has Petty Enterprises ...... in the past. They need to start getting a their act together and show that even they can rebound.

Re: Bobby Labonte out front

I was all for him leaving JGR I think that Tony Stewart had taken over the place....
...what I think impacts a teams success as equally as stong engines or even money, is the driver/crewchief communication.
Bobby has had a hard time of late finding one to "Gel" with.
I was so glad when he ended the relationship with Fatback.......he may be good with others, but he definitely didnt understand Bobby (or could be the other way around)

Now he has just recently made another crew chief change and if I'm not mistaken he just got Kyles crewchief, Andrews after Kyle got a new one.

It appears that Bobby and Andrews are starting to "Gel"

.....and I feel good about next year

Hi Clutch! I thought that was so cool for Bobby Labonte and Kyle Petty to make the top ten at Martinsville! I would love to see Petty win one!

IF THERE WERE NO CHASE

Since I readily admit that calculations are not my thing I will say that these numbers may not be correct but ..... 1st thru 4th places would remain the same. 5th would be Burton, 6th would Jr., 7th Gordon, 8th Martin, 9th Kahne and Busch would be 10th. Again I am no mathmatical genius and this says nothing about Stewart who, by my poor calculations would now be in 3rd, which would totally upset the Brian France method of race standings. By all means bring the chase into Busch and CTS !!!

Yeah, Bobby lost all his momentum when he lost Gary Dehart.
