David Gillingham

I think he needs to spent atleast a year in the busch series, has there been a race this year that he has not crashed.and whats up with racing
the leaders(2nd and 3rd) at the end when your laps down and it's not for position.

If I were mears I be head hunting.

who else did he wreck yesterday, he just ain't ready for cup.

Hey once, I know that you are just making fun of him, but his name is Gilliland. Yes, maybe he could have used a year in Busch, but that didn't happen. Yes, he was laps down, but Nascar puts the lapped cars at the front of the field, I believe that he was probably trying to stay out of the leaders way. Yes, he ran into the back of Mears, but that is because Gilliland was ran into by Hamlin. And nobody even mentioned that fact. If I remember correctly, he sat on the pole at 'Dega, (at a track that he needed to get Nascars approval to run), he finished in the top 20 without a wreck or a beat up car. There are alot of other drivers who crashed weekly in the beginning of their careers. Gordon and Johnson both come to mind, along with plenty of others. Seems to me that the Ragan kid wrecked at least 3 or 4 times in that single race. He caused more problems for everybody in one race than Gillilands wrecks in several races. He will get better, at any rate that is my opinion.

Re: David Gillingham

One thing you have to remember, is this is his first time at a lot of these tracks. Not to mention, I doubt he's getting a lot of respect or credibility from the other drivers. So, they arent showing the patience or giving him the room they would for say, Tony Stewart. Only time will tell if he makes it or not, but I hope he does.

This is part of what I don't understand about some of the new drivers. Why do owners go with young and inexperienced drivers when there are some out there with far more experience. Watching some of these guys tear up perfectly good cars is a crying shame. Sometimes I think I might be better at driving than they are. Wishful thinking at least.

Well I guess my point is there are guys like Johnny Benson, Ron Hornaday and many others that have far more experience than some of these young'ins.

Maybe I am getting old !!! I know that Arthur guy is in my shoulders and is getting to me today. Most importantly I am young at heart and hopefully in the ole' grey matter.

PLUS ... how will these kids ever get experience if the Cup drivers keep invading their learning grounds. Another can of worms re-opened !!!
