Yes the championship is rigged. The reason why I think that is because only the popular nascar nextel cup drivers are the chase for the cup. The other reason why I think the championship is rigged is because the Jimmie Johnson has been second in the points for the past two years and thrid last year in the points. I was listen to a radio broadcast one last week and they had Jeff Gordon, Kasey Khane, and Jamie McMurray on the talk show and they were all getting asked questions about the chase and what they thought about it and Jamie McMurray said that the chase and the championship is rigged and I think the only reason why he said that is because he has never made it into the chase for the cup. The closet he has made it into getting into the chase is 11th. That is only reason I think Jamie McMurray would say that. Now if anyone has any other reason why Jamie McMurray would make that comment. I would love hear them. If not I understand. Jeff Gordon and Kasey Khane both said the cahse is not rigged. Kasey Khane also gave his reason why it is not rigged.The reason hy Kasey Khane thought the chase was not rigged is becuse it is fair point standing. Then he went to say how he doesn't understand the point standings but then he said that it is hard to get into the chase but is real easy to fall out the 10 in points. Then he said during the cahse it is real easy to to loose your chance at win the championship but hen he said that is real hard to get back up into the top 5 spots of points to contend for the championship. Then they asked Jeff Gordon what he thought if the championship was rigged or not and his answer was the cahse was not rigged. Then he said that is real hard to win a championship now. Then he went to say that it was much easier to win a championship with the old points standings then it is now. Then he said that the point of the new point standings is to see who has the better equipment and also to see who has the strongest team. Then he for example in 2003 and 2004 Jack Roush had the better equpiment and the stronger team because the two championship back-to-back. Then Jeff Gordon said in 2005 jack roush still had the stronger team because he got all 5 of his cars in the chase for the Nextel Cup. But then he said that in 2005 Tony Stewart had the better equpiment because he won the 2005 championship. Then he went on to say that so far in the 2006 point standings that it has been a tie for the stronger team because RCR had strong team in the cahse with Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton in the chase. Then he said that Hendrick Motorsports also has a strong team also because they have three drivers in the chase for the nextel cup. The three drivers are Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnson. Then he said so far Jeff Burton,Kevin Harvick,Dale Jr.,Matt Kenseth,Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Khane have the strongest Equipment so far this year. Then he went on to say that he thought that Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Burton might the Championship. Kasey Khane said that he Thought that Jimmie Johson, Jeff Gordon or Matt Kenseth was going to win the Championship. Jamie McMurray said that Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton, Mark Martin, and Matt Kenseth was going to win the Championship. That is what I think if the Championship is rigged.

I think they some favortism towards certain drivers. The championship is definately not rigged!

I'd say it's the latter. Example: Prior to this season Denny Hamlin was a non-enity; a kid no one outside of mid-Virgina had ever heard of. Add to that he was going to a two-year-old team with no history orf success. He starts getting good finishes and then a couple of wins and, <presto> his tee-shirt sales go thru the roof, NA$CAR "fans" on the net suddenly have his name or car number in their screen names, and he's the darling of the media.

In my eyes if Tony never ran out of gas at Chicagoland he would have made the Chase thats in the teams control not NASCARS. As how can you predict a crash to go perfect so it can take out contenders

Excellent point Bob and I agree. Without the media we'd all have to think about who we really like and why. That could be devastating.

Well, we all know NASCAR throws out a caution when Jr needs it. *Cough cough* Talladega and Atlanta. They never show a caution when Jr needs it, and I wonder why?

Look at Robby Gordon over the past weekend-with his roll pads-he threw it out of his car to get a caution! That type of thing has been done since racing started! Nothing new.

Or, maybe Nascar simply didnt notice it. Sure it was televised, things get by. There is no garantee someone is monitoring the TV brodcast every second. Maybe the guy watching was in the bathroom or getting a beer. Er, Gatorade. But about the championship being rigged, I refuse to believe that simply because if it was if Nascar had its way, Kurt Busch would not be a champion. And im sure Mike Helton is smarter than that. He knows that all his fans will turn their back if they find out.

Yes, you do bring up a good point about the 2004 Aarons 499. But, that can be debated, as there was a REAL caution. With Jr, most of the time when he needs a caution, it comes out, yet they don't show it.
