Here's the thing. It is still her right to not take it off. The Armed Forces of the United States protect the rights of every citizen, even the dumbass ones.

Yes, she does have the RIGHT not to, however, she is a public figure (weather we like it or not) and she should remember that. All she is doing is saying it's OK to be disrespectful. That's the problem with our young people already, they have no respect....and don't even get me started on that!

My 12 year son noticed her hat and asked why she was wearing it! how do you answer that!! I have been to seveal races and usually always wear a hat. I pull my long hair through the back to make a pony tail. Taking off my hat messes up my hair every time, (not to mention "Hat Hair"), but I do it anyway. Because it is RESPECTFUL.

As far as the Armed forces, all she is doing is slapping them in the face, especially now when we have so many young men dying -- so she can wear her hat!

She isn't slapping them(us) in the face. Our Constitution is what we defend. It's her right. There are people in the military who are as unpatriotic as her. It's pretty crazy but it's true. I think it's disrespectful to our nation, but she has every right too. It's one of the things my coworkers and I talk about all the time. The irony of this situation and ones like it.

A woman may leave her hat on indoors or during the playing of The National Anthem, unless it is considered unisex like a baseball cap. When wearing such a unisex cap, a woman should follow the same guidelines as for men.

I know ... who the hell is Andy ??? It doesn't matter. When national anthems are played for other countries, such as the Canadian one when the Toronto Blue Jays play, we always show respect by removing our hats. The least this little brat could do is to take hers off.

I was at the Nascar Craftsman Truck series race at Martinsville this past saturday and I saw Mrs. Harvick With her hat on. When I saw that I was thinking to myself. Why didn't she take her hat off. On top that she was talking durig the prayer and the National Anthem. So after they did the National Anthem I was talking to my friend and I told him about Mrs. Harvick talking during the prayer and the National Anthem and also wearing a hat during the Natioal Anthem. His comment to that after I told was that she must be ant-American. She must hate America. Then I said she must get it from Kevin. The reason why I said that is because I was watching last years Oct. Atlanta race and they were showing the pre-race show and They had the camera on Kevin and Delana. The frist thing I saw was that they were both wearing their hats during the National Anthem. The second thing I saw was that a few of kevin Harvick's crew memebers were wearing their hats during the National Anthems. Seens then I have noticed that Kevin and his crew take off their hats but Delana doesn't. I also noticed during the National Anthem Saturday that Richard Childrees was on top of the Transporter during the National Anthem and he had his hat on his head. I know that Richard Childress always takes his hat off during the National Anthem. I was thinking maybe he forgot that he had a hat on. That is what I think about Delana Harvick wearing a hat during the National Anthem.

Women are not required to take their hats off, only the men. Goes back to the time of large womens hats and a bunch of hat pins holding it in place. I remember in the fifties and early sixties women did not and were not expected to remove their hats. Mid sixties on women did not wear hats like they did before. Maybe she isn't required to remove the hat but its not like her grandmothers with a dozen hat pins in it. If you want to wear a mans cap then act as the men.
