Re: Ragan to Drive Roush Number 6

As Wally said today ... "He must be dizzy from going around so many times today." I hope Rousch has made a good decision with him. After todays performance I'm not real confident he will be able to fill Mark's shoes.

Re: Ragan to Drive Roush Number 6

I don't think Ragan or Gilliland are even close to ready for Cup-level competition. The last few races it would be a good bet that every caution the 38 or the 06 would be involved.
The term "driving over one's head" comes to mind.

I posted the following in this thread back on Oct 14th. After today I believe it's even more germane:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's see...

First it was Todd Kluever's ride but he torn up too many cars.

Then it was Danny O'Quinn's ride but he torn up too many cars.

Now it's Ragan Smith's... Maybe after he destroys a few of Jack's Fords, maybe LSC, Nevada, Grandma, or one of us will get a call from Roush with an offer of the ride? <g>

And just like last time Bob, David Ragan is taking over in the 6 car and Regan Smith is going to be sharing the 01 car with Martin.

Re: Ragan to Drive Roush Number 6

This totally blew me away. He goes straight from Truck to Nextel. He's not done that good at the Craftsman series. I have absolutely no idea why in the world Rousch would do this.

Re: Ragan to Drive Roush Number 6

How much time in BGN did Biffle spend. I seem to remember him moving from trucks to cup rather fast.

I think 2 years not totally sure. He won the BGN championship either the year before or 2 years before he went to the cup series. He also has CTS championship.

Re: Ragan to Drive Roush Number 6

Main difference was that Biffle could/can actually drive one of these things....the 06 driver seems to have trouble with basic skills. Those are the things he would develop if he spent more time in the CTS or NBS. As it is, Roush is forcing him to learn basic skills while at cup-level competition. Not a good thing for all the other drivers to have to watch out for this guy. I'll predict right now that before this season is over the 06 will have something to do with knocking a Chaser out of the hunt. Just waiting for it to happen...

I don't recall BV having as many issues at RAgan is having...I still think BV will be a very competitive driver at some point. He's making a good move by getting away from the Hendricks camp, IMHO.
