Leaves here are just beautiful. We are generally about 2 weeks behind everywhere else in my area due to the lake that is near by. I love the colors this year. Lots of red and oranges.

IMHO, Gordon can seem to be negative more than the average driver. But at least he usually has something interesting to say. A lot of drivers are so busy thanking the sponsors and the team, saying nothing of substance, that it gets a little repetitive.

A lot of his negative comments seem aimed at officials. I appreciated his complaint a few weeks ago at having to drive while the sun was setting, how that was too dangerous.

When you've been as successful as Gordon, you don't need to worry as much about whether you're liked, you can afford to be more outspoken. And he takes advantage of this in a way I respect.

Gordon, however, is a special case who has to be considered a contender in every race – including the Chase – until the checkered flag flies. If there is any team that can perform a miracle from the bottom half of the field and have a shot at the title, it’s the 24 team. Beware: This is it for these guys. They've got to have top-10s from now until the end of the Chase.

Now. Lets not totally write Jeff Gordon out of this championship. He is always a contender at Lowes and Martinsville. Jeff could walk out of Martinsville solidly in the hunt for the championship, or maybe in the championship lead if some of the Chasers in the top 5 have problems. I am not going to say Jeff has lost this championship this year until he is mathematically out.
