vickers future employment

should hendricks continue to employ a driver that has gone out of his way to hurt chase titles for his team mates? i'd like to see terry drive the 25.

Welcome, Billybob.

Hasn't hendrick basically done that already. From what I read Hendrick Motor Sports (when ethics and integrity reign supreme) has cut Vickers completely out of the loop and all they want him to do is drive. Brian is literally, the "Red-headed stepchild." I imagine they would have cast him out completely by now except he has a contract that his agent made pretty binding.

While I don't completely believe it to be true, a good case could be made by Brian that he was just doing what drivers had been doing all day, "bump-drafting" his teammate past Junior but he misjudged his bump.

I believe Junior put it quite well in the post-race interview, "It was just racing and these things happen." One thing for sure; Monday I bet NA$CAR has a hissy-fit and comes out once more with an "Thou shalt not bump draft" edict.

They might even fine Vickers and take away his points, but what will that matter? Brian is one of the invisable non-top ten anyway, so what's the point?

Re: vickers future employment

I was actually happy to see Brian win today because he is always helping JJ and JG win at these tracks but they never return the favor.

Red Bull & Toyota and it looks to me as though they have a winning driver.

BS, in the spring talladega race with a couple laps to go and gordon in the lead, vickers hung jeff out to dry.

Gee, I alway thought that it was F1 where a team driver's only reason for being was to help the team's number one driver to win. I thought American stock car drivers were supposed to try and win every race they entered.
I must have gotten it all confused somewhere along the way. My bad. Sorry.

Riiight, he passed Gordon for what he thought would be the win but it turned out he made the pass too soon and Jimmie took advantage.

I didn't say he should have pushed Jeff to the checkers, just pointing out that him always helping JJ and JG win is untrue.

Sounds like sour grapes from Hendrick and JJ fans to me. Vickers didn't do it on purpose. Get over it. The only way to be a Hendrick team player is to help the almighty Gordon and Johnson win, and not dare even think of trying to race them.

While I agree it was a racing deal, Jimmie was running second with half a lap to go in the midst of a championship hunt. JB finished 27th and JJ had a huge chance to get back in the picture. That had to be hard to swallow.
