Re: What is the reason Brian Vickers is not apart of Hendrick

Basically it boils down to this. He is leaving Hendrick for Toyota(that's the main reason). It goes deeper. He made the mistake of deciding to race his teammates at any given time. Also he has not been considered a team player(even though he helped Gordon and Johnson get to the front many times only to be hung out to dry).

Well on the racing part that is stupid. Like Johnson and Gordan have never raced at all. That's crap

Vickers is not leaving HMS because of his racing mistakes, that has nothing to do with it, so that was pretty pointless to bring up cause it has nothing to do with him leaving.

Racing his teamates is not considered a racing mistake, it's called trying to win a race.

I agree, but Gordon and Johnson don't see it that way. That's why I said mistake. Any other teammates would have not said a word about him trying to get a win.

Dupont, the only mistake(not mistakes) he made, was to try and get a win by racing one of his teammates.

If with only 15 laps to go and your running 2nd and are 1 sec. slower then the guy behind you and have about a 10th place car at the moment and your are holding the guy up behind you thats not trying to win the race cause there was no way in hell he was going to bet Harvick, its called be stubburn that your car turned to sh*t and gonna pull a Newman.

So, what you're saying is that, in the Realm of Hendricks where ethical behaviour reigns supreme, not "Giving one for the Gipper," and sacrificing your own win in order that Jeffie-Pooh or Jimmy can win, is considered "Non-team play? I may be wrong but it seems to me that I've seen street named after that concept; "One Way!"

Personally I believe that the above, plus the fact that Hendrick has some "trade secrets" that it's not interested in seeing Red Bull/Toyota acquire, plays a big part in Vickers' forced separation.

I hate to wish well to a Hendrick car but I'd really like to see Brian win one before season's end, if only to rub a little salt in the wound.

What a perfectly put statement! Brian Vickers dosen't know how to work as a teammate. I would not want a driver on my team who can't work as a teammate.

He sure knew how to push Jimmie Johnson to the front at Daytona, then Johnson left him out to dry. Vickers is getting a bad rap for not being a team player. He wants to win, and if he has to pass a teammate to do it, he will. Nothing wrong with that.........oh, unless its the 48 or 24.

Well first off, where is Brian Vickers in the standings? Oh yeah, like 20th or something. Where is Johnson and Gordon? In the Chase. I would do what the late great Dale Earnhardt would do, if you don't work as a teammate, then he would move you out of the way. If Gordon, Johnson or Busch have that problem with Vickers, just move him.

And what does that have to do with trying to win a race, or being a team player? Because of his place in the standings he should just roll over if he has a fast car?

Whoa! Now first off, Im not saying Brian shouldn't race for the win, he should. But, there was alot of racing left, and Gordon was faster than him anyway. Brian should help his teammates, not hold them up.
