Big shout-out to the late great Dale Earnhardt

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but imagine this, Oliver Stone: Gordon wins for the fifth time at Talladega to tie Dale Earnhardt a.) with 11 plate-race wins, and b.) for sixth on the all-time victories list with 76 -- at the site of The Intimidator's final victory. (And, to a lesser degree, keep his Chase hopes on the front burner.) ... Stranger things have happened.

Man, if Jeff wins this Sunday, Earnhardt would be soo proud of Jeffy boy, he'd be smiling and shacking his head like he did when Jeff started to breakdown in tears when he won his 1st championship at the banquet.

I think he'd be a bit more proud if Jr. won.

I'd like to believe that most all of the drivers have a fair amount of respect for one another. In the heat of the moment things are said and done but they are all in the same business so it would seem to me that it makes life much easier if you just get along.

I think Jeff has 2 maybe 3 more championship in him. We'll just have to see, he could still win.

Let us pray that he doesnt. They would never be able to make a helmet large enough for his head.

I think Jeffy pooh still has to get 3 more titles to tie with Earnhardt and the King for titles. As far as victories... well he will catch earnhardt and pass him( although I wish he wouldn't), He will never catch the King in Victories(200).

Re: Big shout-out to the late great Dale Earnhardt

I didn't hear Gordon and Earnhardt argue with each other 1 time. I think they were really good friends. If Gordon does win and pass Earnhardt and tie Earnhardt for the Restrictor Plate wins, Earnhardt will be looking down in happiness. I believe Earnhardt had a great deal of respect for each other, and if Earnhardt would want 2 people to break his record, it would either be Gordon or Jr. Hopefully Jeff can get it done and cruise along to his 5th championship. And, we also need to remind the Gordon haters that Gordon is only 35 I think, and Earnhardt got 75 wins at 50, while Gordon got his 75 wins at 35. Gordon has obviously won at a faster pace than Earnhardt, and may tie or break Earnhardt's record for championships. I agree with Dupont4five, Jeff Gordon has alot more championships left in him.

I agree with al you said, they consider the Earnahrdt vs. Wonder Boy one of the most fierce rivalries in this sport, yet I dont remeber once where they went at it, I saw more Gordon vs. Rusty. Jeff just needs good cars, he will perform every weekend but since 2002, except 2004, he hasnt had winning cars. Jeff hasnt lost a thing, he has a rebel in him im telling you.

Well, there is no doubt about it that Jeff has struggled. But he hasn't lost his step. I think Jeff will be in full strength in 2007, but hopefully he can win it this year.
