Jacques Villeneuve May Drive For Roush

Only days after NASCAR announced it would run its first points race in Canada on the road course named after his late father, former Formula One champion Jacques Villeneuve may have joined the stock car series.

According to the Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Villeneuve has signed a deal to race with Roush Racing and will move back to Canada from his base in Europe

FOX Sports - NASCAR - Report: Former F1 champ to drive in NASCAR in '07

that would be cool

Montoya and Villeneuve both in NASCAR

Well, it may be big news about these F1 guys going to Cup, but its my opinion they will get eaten alive. Running around single file at break-neck speed on fast road circuits is one thing, lets see how they do at Bristol with 40 other cars on the track!

I agree, it will be VERY INTERESTING for sure. I always think back to the treatment Scott Pruitt got when he came into Cup. Scott would qualify well........only to get punted into the wall shortly into the race. But these guys are both natural talents and should do ok if they have competitive cars under them. If nothing else, it adds some much needed spice to the Cup series.
Here is another good link I found on the subject of Villeneuve....

Well with the way NASCAR is fining for every little bump, soon there will be no bump and grind in NASCAR, so you will basically have a follow the leadert type of racing that will give these F1 guys a chance, and help bring more world light into NA$$$$$$$CAR.

I remember Al Uncer jr. at daytona..."mann these guy's are bumping and push each other everywhere"
He hit the wall on the first lap, I think it was Earnhardt that said he should go back to where he came from.

I don't mind other types of drivers coming into the sport but let keep the hard nosed ,rubbin's rtacing type of NASCAR.

i agree as well

if any NASCAR drivers went to open wheel cars they would learn quickly rubbing, even a little, will put you out

so, the open wheel guys need to learn how to drive NASCAR style

i have nothing wrong with that
