Re: Wow !!!!

it was an allright race but it was really really long.

i was mad cause to me it looked like Kasey spun out on purpose, and because of that he made himself run out of gas.

Re: Wow !!!!

That was an interesting finish to say the least. Rotton luck for Chasers Gordo and Kahne. That was pretty much the final nail in Kaseys coffin.

Re: Wow !!!!

This race kinda sucked, champion caliber driver forgot how to race (Kenseth, Hamlin, Newman), the winner won with no gas, WAY too many cautions, WAY too many commercials, Jeff has another part failure,

It looked like to me he realized he ran out of gas and knew it will take him forever to get to his pit box so he dumped the clutch and spun himself out to bring out the caution and get a good finish, but NASCAR didnt see it that way.

That is how they make the big paydays for the teams.

it was more about maintaining enough speed to get to pit road and once there he needed to slow down. He locked up the rear brakes which in turn caused the spin. Since he wasn't in the way of the race there was no point in bringing out a caution flag.

Exactly. Plus he had no tach to measure his speed and slowed down to quick for fear of speeding, and just looped it. He was in a no-win situation since his engine was dead, and he had the very front pit stall.

Re: Wow !!!!

I got a question,

How did jimmy johnson slow down to pit, then scrape to pitstop due to kasey, then pit next lap, speed on pitroad ,and get a stop n go. and still finish on the lead lap, while harvick pits 1 time, and loses a lap ??????

unless they showed the wrong finish, jimmy got 14th lead lap, harvick 15 th 1 lap down.

I asked the same question in the race discussion thread.

Re: Wow !!!!

I heard that Johnson was suppose to get a penalty for speeding on pit road but hadn't served it before the race ended. I havn't read the nascar.com site yet to see if they assessed it so he should have finished further back.

When you lock up the rear brakes your car doesnt automatically spin out of control, usually the rear tires start to smoke and sometimes you flat spot them, drivers do it all the time when they are speeding to the commitment line. Now if you dump the clutch...

When you run out of gas the elecrical system doesnt shut off so he probably did know how fast he was going
