Hi, swbytm, and welcome to the forum. I agree about the lack of a penalty for Stewart. I don't think it's fair that he got away with what he did -- especially when other folks got penalized for less (I'm still steamed about the Hall of Famers getting dumped on). As for the Johnson win, you know, I think that one has a lot of people stumped. I believe this is going to go down in history as probably the most controversal Daytonas in years, if not ever.

Re: 2006 Daytona 500 After Daytona I was surprised to hear some of the aweful things people were saying about Matt Kenseth who I have always felt to be a decent guy and a clean racer. Now I have only been a fan for about 4 or 5 years so I don't know all the bad blood between people and teams etc. I didn't see Matt do anything to Tony that seemed intentional, am I wrong and mybe I just saw it wrong?

Re: 2006 Daytona 500 I aplogize for my tardiness, but I just read this thread. I feel an overwhelming urge to address the comments about Dale Jarrett and his track record of clean driving. I will preface this response with the fact that I am a Newman fan. Which brings me back to a race, just last year, where DJ retaliated against the 12, and essentially, ruined his championship hopes. So, your cool, calm, and "always" collected driver, isn't any of that. DJ is a dirty little rat, just like the a number of other drivers. DJ shouldn't get the free pass for his actions anymore than anyone else should, premier Cup wins or not. DJ is as dirty as they come. I'm not quite sure how he's stayed under the radar this long, but he has. Doesn't make him above the law either though.
