| I agree and thanks for the fine attitudes, Tbalt, You are probably right on that revenge by most all deal but I must say the person that does inflict a revenge must be willing to suffer the consequences. Not in just Nascar but in every sport. Take baseball for instance: A guy hits a homerun off a pitcher then that pitcher throw's some chin music at the next batter...or that guy on first makes a wild not even close to second base slide and takes out the shortstop. Fine and dandy but if you cause harm to that person or even kill that person then you should suffer the time for the crime. My comments earlier on the possible crime issue involved was infact an effort to see that no more of my favorite sport "Nascar Racing" drivers have to live with these consequences. I can't think of no place better to be than with my dad at a Nascar race...it just plain is the way it supposed to be. |

| Hey, tbalt, welcome and thanks for offering the opposing viewpoint. I was hoping to hear from some Stewart fans during this discussion Are you disappointed at all in how the 500 played out for him? A fifth place finish isn't bad by any means, but I think he had a legitimate chance to win it. I can help but wonder how much all the contact might have cost him in that department. |

| OK a slightly new take. I'm not going to excuse Tony here or even try to say it was an accident but...watching a new angle replay last evening (from a head on view) prior to Tony coming down the track on the 17 Kenseth actually moved well up the track. That happened just milliseconds before Tony started down. Looked to me like Tony saw him coming, moved down to force him down/block and payback. Problem was Kenseth moved up at the same instant Tony started to turn down. All that to say I think the intention was there but the execution probably got a bit beyond expectation. Second, I drive 30 miles to work each day. Normally nice and calm. I let the others get all hyper. Today I move over to let merging traffic on. I have plenty of space between myself and the car behind me but all of a sudden he jumps all over me. I move over and I'm fuming now. I was absolutly ready to put him in the grass. |

| Yeah, it possible that he wanted to nudge Kenseth a little and circumstances just turned the bump into something more. Only Stewart really knows for sure what his intentions were, and maybe he doesn't even know for sure, if he caught a case of "road rage" like you describe. Hard to know that for sure, though. And would it even matter to anyone if he would've come out and said, "Yeah, I got carried away. I let my emotions get the best of me, and I'm sorry." or something like that? | Personally I'd love to have heard him say that! To me making a mistake isn't really the problem. It's how you handle it once it's done. Hopefully he's already made some apologies to the team and even to Matt though I doubt that. Oh well it will even itself out that is one thing I've learned over the years. |

| Daytona 500 I didn't see all the race but the replay I saw showed Gordon passing on the yellow line. This may not be the pass everyone is talking about. As for Jimmy Johnson he really ran a good race. His car passed both pre and post race inspections and this talk of a tainted win is crazy. As for Stewart I really began respecting him last year. He really seemed to be getting his act together and then his actions with Matt. To make it worse the interview after the race really set it off. As far as Gordons and Stewarts meeting to me that looked like racing. I will say that Gordon and Jimmy are my two favorite drivers. Looking forward to Califorina Sunday. |

hehe, seriously, I hate it when you're minding your own business and some moron pulls a stunt like that. I bet he was eating a donut, checking his GPS and talking on the cell all at the same time, eh? |

| You know, I was tempted to buy a nice, shiny new picture of Tony Stewart the other day at Home Depot, just before the race, so I could display it in my new bookstore. They were so proud of him they had the pictures up all over the store. Now I'm glad I didn't buy it -- I would have had to take it down after the race. This is just embarrassing. Yesterday I noticed that Home Depot no longer had his pictures out on display. I gotta wonder if he's been called onto the carpet about his behavior...and if not, why not? BTW, Vactrade, great post...reminds me of the "Boondocks" comics when Huey calls the Dept. of Justice and tries to turn in someone for fostering terrorism, and it turns out to be some big, important U.S. government official... |

| It's good to see that you guy's can handle other opinions, you gained my respect. I just hope Tony can control himself this year so he can gain some of yours back. Nice talking to all of you, but I still hope Tony kicks arse this week! |

| This is what Larry McReynolds had to say about the incident on Fox Sports. I can't see where Tony did a little backslide and I'm glad that Larry thinks that Stewart might have "felt bad" if Kenseth's car had rolled over, upside down and torn to peices. I guess I just don't understand why the penalties for that type of driving aren't more severe. In my eyees Stewart will never deserve my respect. If we ever get a Lowe's or something other than Home Depot, I'll never set foot in the store again until they cut ties with Stewart. What a poor image to have for a role model. "Stewart has come so far with his emotions, attitude, character and the way he handles things, but every once in a while, he backslides a little bit. If Stewart had come back around under caution, and Kenseth's car had been sitting over there upside down, torn to pieces, he might have felt pretty bad about what he had done." |
