| Greatest Rivalries Saw this on CMT. I don't agree with all of them. 1. Richard Petty vs David Pearson 2. DW vs The Alabama Gang 3. Geoff Bodine vs Earnhardt 4. Dale Jr. vs Jeff Gordon 5. Bill Elliot vs Earnhardt 6. Ford vs Chevy 7. Roush vs Hendrick 8. Cale Yarborough vs Darrell Waltrip 9. Curtis Turner vs Fred Lorenzen 10. Rusty Wallace vs Earnhardt Some I agree with cause they are rivalries for the ages Like Pearson vs Petty or Ford vs Chevy.

| Re: Greatest Rivalries Dale Jr vs Jeffy pooh was more over there recent back and forth at the restrictor plate tracks. The Ford Chevy deal is how folks get out right fist brawls in bars over who's better. The model rivalry has the numbers to back it up. I just don't have them on me. Dale Jr said he doesn't own a ford, won't own a ford and won't sit in a ford. The only thing he had against Kenseth was he drove Fords, otherwise he's a good guy. It's all in the eye of the beholder. |

What I believe we have here is the fact that the media, and NASCAR, would absolutely love to see a Jeffie/Junior fued. Think of the fan interest that would gen up and imagine the hype the media'd make of it. A rivalry between NASCAR's two biggest memorabilia-selling drivers? The folks in the NASCAR offices and the makers of T-shirts and toy cars would be in the throes of a perpetual orgasm! In fact, after looking at the list from CMT (who/what is CMT, anyway? Could someone enlighten me?), I see only two or three actual rivalries which got up close, personal and downright fugly. The rest were strictly products of wishful thinking, media hype and were more about the fans than they were about the drivers themselves.
