It's funny to see people so anxious to get someone out the door. The guy can still drive good enough to make the chase. I think he would have liked last year to be his last year, but due to loyalty, he came back. Who can blame him for that.

Re: Martin has no ride for next year - yet

I don't think it is so much that we want him out the door as it is why did you announce retirement, sell all the "retirement tour" stuff, get another driver set to take over (and yes someone would have done it), get all teary eyed about the history and then not go !!! I like Martin but when someone says something and makes a big deal about it and then doesn't follow through it seems like a farce, even though it probably wasn't. I don't care if he stays forever ..... just tell us what to be ready for and when.

No chance I'd ever go back to my job and I even enjoyed the work.

I'd like to see Martin in the Truck Series next year. As much as I love the trucks it would be nice seeing him putting the bar up there nice and high for everyone to go get. All it could do is improve the truck series if you ask me.

I used to feel the same way. For over 32 years I couldn't wait for the end to come. Now I look back and wonder where all the time went. As I lived it day to day it seemed like forever but now I've been gone for 2 1/2 years and love it more every day !!!!!

Your day will Come Lil !!! You're just to darned young right now. Enjoy that while you can.

I think you are very right when you say it would raise the bar for the truck series. As much as I'm not a Harvick fan I have to believe that he has brought fans and attention to the Busch series. That in itself can't be all bad.

I must confess that even in my retirement I still work. I "work" 3 days a week at a job that pays me too much with not enough to do. The people are way to nice and they appreciate me and when they want me to do something it's always "When you have time could you ........"

It gets me out of the house and pays for my gas and golf ...... speaking of which, there is a tee time out there calling my name !!!!

At my location of the world 30 degrees has a tee time also. A few years ago my son and I played from March thru Feb of the next year. Pretty tough up here in the snow palace of the world. I'm not that good at it either but I enjoy the time out and being with the kid.
