Okay folks, we've got ten more races and 10 teams that can possibly do the job. The question now is who is going to win the championship. Since few of us were very good at picking the weekly winners it'll be interesting to see how well we can do with just 10 teams to pick from. Winner will get bragging rights for a year. Maybe Ross can add a title if we ask nicely. Since NASCAR is using about 30% of what used to be the regular season for the Chase we'll do the same. You'll have three weeks to mull over your picks. May the best guesser win !!!

Well, since Na$car rewards consistency over winning, I have to go with Mark Martin. Just kidding, I gotta go with Kenseth because he can win and has been here before. But it is hard to overlook Harvick because that team in on a serious roll.
Kasey is my sentimental favorite, but I think when its crunch time, he wont have quite the fire in him to push an issue (getting rough) that some of the other drivers do. I call it Mark Martin Syndrome, which is why Mark has no Championships.

I'm going against the grain and picking the rookie Hamlin to win it all. Not sure why.

Kenseth for me. He has momentum right now. He and Robbie Riser are an awesome team. Even when they have a sub-par car, they seem to be able to make it good enough in the end to get a top 10 or 15 finish.


I have another question for ya? I was listening to the race a couple of weeks ago and one of the bozo announcers made the statement that Robbie Riser and Kenseth are finally becoming an elite combination of driver and crew chief, like Jimmine Johnson and Chad Knaus.

Am I mistaken or does Matt and Robbie have a title already?? And what does Johnson and Knaus have on their resumes other than a bunch of early season wins and floundering finishes at the end of the year??

I can't pick Harvick. He's gonna win the freakin Busch race and I really don't want him winning both.

I think that that's a good pick, Lefty. Hamlin has been finishing rather consistantly over the last few races. As long as he doesn't fall flat on his face, like a couple of drivers have during the last couple of years, he should be in the running and giving JJ, JG, and KB some major heartburn. Also, with Smoke not in the Chase, he'll get some great advise on how to do this. Denny has a great shot.

Of course, I have to pick Jr. During the postrace interview on Sat., he admited that he should have won the first Chase, he just screwed up. Dale, Jr. said his team this year is just as good as that team of a couple years ago, so he should have a good chance to take it, the same as it should have been a coupke of years ago.
