LOL... Not even in the same area code! The two above mentioned doofuses give trailer trash a bad name.

Seriously, there are two racing-oriented shows I try never to miss each week. On TV it's "Wind Tunnel" (I've been a fan of Dave's since his days holding up Eli "Visa" Gold on TNN and Wednesday Nite and Saturday Nite Thunder on ESPN. Since Larry Nuber died, Bob Jenkins left and Mike Joy went over to the Dark Side, Dave is about the only real racing media jounranlist left on TV.). On Radio, PRN has a show which airs live on Wednesday evenings called, "The Pit Reporters." It's pretty informative. They have two practicing racing writers on, usually a NASCAR mouthpiece and someone who knows something about stock car racing, to make the show fair and balanced.

Other than that, the crap they put on Speed (Trackside, NASCAR 24/7, etc.) and the stuff on radio, (All Junior, Jimmy Johnson, Eli Gold, etc.) Well, I just don't bother with it. If I want a show about some primadona's feelings, I'll catch Dr. Phil or Ophra. If I want manipulated excitement and phony action, Jerry Springer isn't a bad choice over a California race, either. <g>

Now, if you want to know how I REALLY feel about things...<VBG>

Re: 3 laps between commercials.....

Wow. Thought it was just me thinking commercials were out weighing the racing.

Last couple seasons I dreaded the switchover to TNT because it seems it got really bad then.

Guess I gotta pay a bit more attention to myself. ------- Nah.

EXACTLY! When I went to the Brickyard this year, I was amazed as to how fast the race went without 400,000 commercials!

I'm sure someone must have an educated guess. I wonder how many commercials interrupt the average race .... or is it the other way around? How many laps interrupt the average barrage of commercials

yea buddy. It was hard rooting for Jeff when he was in that Ford but now that he's driving that Chevy all is good. I'm missing my Ward though

I agree. I miss Ward also. I sometimes wonder just why he isn't racing ??? There are a few on the track right now that have had less of a career than Ward has had. Hopefully it has been his choice not to take certain offers because they weren't as good as he'd like.

Re: 3 laps between commercials.....

End of this string became "Ward Burton-ish". Hence the following observation.

Visit Ward Burton's web site (The Official Ward Burton Website). This is a person involved in a lot of things, not the least of which is his family. He's making a positive contribution on many fronts.

Personally, I like him a whole bunch as a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup level driver / competitor. A whole bunch. I believe he represents much good and has been and could be a great asset to the sport and example to fans both young and old.

But all of this does not matter in a sport gone "money". Young enough he is not. Flashy enough he is not. Winning enough - I won't even say / type it because it goes against what I feel.

Do again note this - he is making valuable contributions in many, many areas. Feel good for him and keep hoping he gets another shot. I'd love to see it.
