Question NFL terminology in Na$car

Has anyone else noticed since the NFL season has started, some of the Na$car announcers throw in football terms for racing? I was watching the Busch race last night, when the announcer (can't remember who) said someone "called an audible".
Now, I am sitting here watching Trackside at Richmond, where Jeff Hammond blurts out that Kasey Kahne threw a "Hail Mary Pass" at California last weekend in his attempt to make the Chase. This is too funny. Do they really think that by using football terms they are going to sway NFL fans to watch a race instead of their beloved Patriots or Broncos? I seriously doubt it.

Arrrgggghhhhh! I just went to the store and had the Nascar station on XM in my truck. Bob Dilner was talking about guys who will make the Chase or not. He said some will go into "Prevent Defense" and it could hurt them.
