it could be just about anybody but I think Kasey drives well and gets in. I don't think Smoke has any problem so I'm down to either Burton or Martin getting left out.

Somehow the #6 gets the job done so I think the Burton Bubble busts. No chase for him this year.

Grandma here's hoping Kasey get in, but I hope Burton hangs on and Martin is out.

If Martin drops out of the chase maybe it will be a done deal with him retireing. If he makes the chase then we will probably continue to hear his off and on again retirement. He couldn't win a championship under the prior system so I don't want him to win under this handicapped chase system.

First off, I definitely Kasey Kahne is bumping someone out of the Chase. He has been rolling the last couple weeks, and the roll will continue. He might even win the thing.

Tony Stewart is starting way back, but he has a great record in Richmond. He will suck it up and get a top-10 or top-15 finish.

Mark Martin is my pick to miss the Chase. I just have a feeling. He didn't look very good last week, and he won't this week either. I think Jeff Burton finishes well and in 9th, with Stewart sliding back to 10th. Kahne should make it safely in 7th or 8th.

I keep saying this whole chase thing sucks. After tonight 3/4th of the field will be locked out with 1/3 of the season left to have the opportunity to finish no better than 11th. Where the hell is any excitement in that?

I'm a Martin fan, but I think he misses too. He just has no momentum right now. I would prefer to see Tony Stewart miss so we can hear him whine some more.

Question for all of you guys who hate the Chase format. While I am not a huge fan and I think they need to do some more to make it better, I keep hearing that under this format that 3/4 of the field is locked out. How is this any worse than the old system? At least under this system someone in 10th now has a shot at the Championship when under the old system there was no way in the wrold you could make up 10 spots and a typical 500+ pts deficit. I am not saying this system is right, but the logic that is being used to say this system is wrong because 3/4 of the field is locked out is flawed.

So you telling me that if it was like the old points system Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, Vickers, etc. have a shot at the championship???? Actually in the old points system with 10 races to go there really would only be 3 or 4 guys battling for the Championship, this year it can be 11 if Matt and Jimmie finish last. Its actually a whole lot more exciting cause now guys like Mark, Jeff, Tony, and maybe Kasey will get a shot to the championship where as in the old points system they wouldnt.

Jeff Gordon would have won the championship in 2004 if the points system wasn't under the Chase format, but I see your point. It would basically be 2-4 drivers having a shot at the championship this year. I see the positives and the negatives of the Chase format, but it does create for excitement.

I just can't get past the idea with 1/3 of the season left and 3/4 of the field being eliminated to anything better than 11th. Plus you mean to tell me that again, with 1/3 of the season left there is no possability of those 8 guys chasing Johnson cannot possible catch him? I don't think so.

I highly doubt in the old points system Kasey, Greg, Carl will have a shot at winning the Winston Cup.

I may be reading this wrong, but you are not making any sense. With 1/3 of the season left, there are now 10 guys with legitimate shots to win the championship under this format. Under the old system, you were lucky if more than 2 guys were left with legitimate shots at the championship at this point in the season.
