Did anyone see Mark Martin say the greatest driver of our era (Stewart) wont be in the Chase? I thought that was one of the coolest things I ever heard Mark say.

And I think he was right. It should of been Martin or Burton, neither have won a race. I put a new thread up a bit ago, hopefully this will not happen again.

I agree... This new format ruins it for me. Let at least the TOP 20 RACE FOR THE CHASE. Crazy and dumb that 11-20 can't race for Championship.
They could have fixed the Points system so that the Top 2 weren't the only ones who could win with out denying 2/3 of the other Cars a chance.
This will get changed soon....
I won't watch the races with the same enjoyment for the rest of the year.

Doesn't Nascar know how many people will be turned off and not turn on the TV because their Driver doesn't have a chance?
What if the 1978 Yankees who were like 14 games behind the Red Socks COULDNT COME BACK? It would have ruined the game. What if Boston Fans who are 10 games out now were told, "ok from this date if your not winning you can't win". THIS IS STUPID.
Please help me understand and tell me what I am missing...I am open to learning, but its going to be a hard sell

TN_Gal, I believe those that picked Tony did so after the race was over. I checked the pole before the race started and nobody had voted for Stewart. Now it shows 4.

No, they couldn't be Champion. The way this year worked out, under the old format, the only 2 guys with a shot to win the Championship would be Kenseth and Johnson. The next closest guy in points is Harvick and he is over 300 points back. There is no realistic way he would make up that ground in 10 races. There would be some shuffling of the order from 3rd-15th, but in the long run, who really cares who finishes 3rd in the Championship?
