Recommended NASCAR blog

For those of you who are new NASCAR fans, here is a site I'm sure you'll find enlightening, informative and entertaining.

For those of you who have followed NASCAR awhile, you may want to give it a couple of tries. However, personally I find I don't agree with what the guy says most of the time. About the ONLY thing I consistently agree with him on is his reverence for Kenny Irwin.

But, I thought some of the newer, younger NASCAR driver fans might enjoy the site.

Bob, if you just cut and paste the Web address, our patented state of the art forum software should automatically be able to convert the address URL into a link with the right page title.

Subsequent posts offered the link left out in the original to this blog.

So he disagrees with most everything I say... but recommends the blog anyway. Um, okay weird. But whatever. Hi to anyone who links over from there. Hope you enjoy your stay.
So Bob, any comments about the "disagree but recommend" deal?

Thanks for the mention, Diecast Dude.

Well, isn't that special?! (To quote Dana Garvey's Church Lady)

Personally, I see no incongruence in disagreeing with another's opinion but recommending that other's read an opposing hypothesis. I find it easy to acknowledge and respect other's suppositions, even if they are at odds with mine. I have repeatedly stated that intelligent people can agree to disagree.

I began reading Wilson's blog a few years ago and found it rather stimulating. However, after a couple of weeks I differed with some statement, Jerry make. I forget what it was about now but I'm sure it had something to do with a concept of this "New NASCAR. I diplomatically offered a comment and found a couple days later that I had been blocked from offering any personal insights on his offerings (Censored, I believe it would be termed?). I haven't tried lately but as of a year or so ago scrfan43 (my screen name) was blocked from all input.

My personal feeling is that the DiecastDude's blog offers a lot of good stuff. But he, generally, is in line with the NASCAR company line and I have often found that he thinks things like the playoff, over-priced souvenirs, overpriced tickets, and anything which increases NA$CAR's popularity, no matter how derisive it is to stock car racing competition, are just fine.

This last is the reason I suggested his blog to our [newer to NASCAR] members. I figured here was a writer they could relate to.

I have to acknowledge that my opinion, offered freely, is worth just what it costs. (Nothing) After all he, and his brother, have made the not-easy effort to have a blog. I sure haven't. He has a book published, which I have never done (A couple of articles in obscure mental health publications, but no books). I haven't had the honor of reading his book, so I don't know if it is a vanity publication or not, but with Jerry's obvious talent, I imagine it's a real publication.

Besides, though he resides on the left coast now, the guy is a fellow Hoosier. That has to account for something! I still wish he hadn't have censored me though. I think I may have offered some interesting comments. But, I have been block from other forums and have had multitudes of chat room members place me on permanent IGNORE. I guess my motto, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you mad." is tough to take, sometimes, eh?

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Now, I need a hug.

Re: Recommended NASCAR blog

Me? In line with the NASCAR company line? Oh dear. If that's the impression I'm leaving, I definitely need to brush up on my writing skills as they are sorely lacking.

And that was you I banned? Ah. I won't air dirty laundry in public by going into the whys. Water under the bridge besides.

Anyway, thanks for the plug. However, one correction: my sister is not going to be happy with you when she finds out you called her any one of my three brothers, as she's the one with the blog!

Re: Recommended NASCAR blog

Thanks for popping in, Dude. Bob's one of our great members here. Very knowledgeable, especially on the old NASCAR.

Look forward to chatting with you.

And I'll have a talk with Bob about that "brother" comment
