well she doesn't do much for me, yeah when you add all the smoke,mirrors and make up. but plain at the track she just another driver.......and a good one too. would to see her in nascar.

Hello LSC, someone has to be first. Congrats! I have to defend our boy Souporscotty, he was looking at the cutest Nascar driver thread & I suggested that he start a thread for the men! So's you men wouldn't feel left out. So, no Nascar connection but my fault. Blame me.

Techinally Danica is a "potential future NASCAR driver"...I figure once she wins Indy, she will just have to show up the boys in NASCAR...so, she can stay on the Forum...

But to make it even more official...we can ask a simple question in this thread..."How would Danica Patrick handle a NASCAR race?"...see...it qualifies as a NASCR thread now...

OK her is a quick update, I have a few moments to chat with you.

I hope all of you caught some of my appearances earlier this month. I made Cold Pizza, the Today show, the early show, LETTERMAN, inside edition, ESPN Hot seat, Mike and Mike, 9 donuts where good)AND A FEW MORE. LOL I was on my book tour "Danica-Crossing the line" - it was a book I was asked to do last summer, and I thought it was very flattering. I didn't know that I had such a story to tell, and after I got talking to the author, I guess I did have a story to tell. I hope all of you enjoy the book, and I hope I can help someone who has any self doubt to live your dream, I did.

Keep a eye out for my new commercial I made at ESPN, it was a funny one again, I love doing those, so much fun. It should be on for the race.

At the track. RAIN RAIN, all it did was rain the first 2 weeks we were here - It rained 18 days in a row hear in Indy. Our first few practice runs I knew something was different from last year, we had a ill handling car. I asked Ray what was wrong, and he commented that we had a new compound of tires, different from last year, they were a lot harder, I mean a lot harder!! The car was so inconsistent, I could not keep my foot in it all the way around, the car was sliding all over. The car would understear one corner, then oversteer the next, I was really having a hard time getting up to speed. What made it worse was the Dallara chassis, was getting around a lot faster, as they have a lot more downforce than the Panoz. We tried many different set ups, and all of them where bad. I tried keeping the guys up beat, as I knew we would get it if we had more time, as Ray always does. Thank goodness the Pole weekend was rained out, as we were needing more track time. I tried to cheer the team up on National TV with ABC sports live interview on rain pole day. My husband Paul sent me a cow bell, as he knew from talking to me all week, we where struggling. If you have seen the Will Farrow SNL skit, with the cow bell you will understand what I did. I was interviewed by Dr. Jerry Punch and he asked me what we needed to go faster, and I pulled out my cow bell and started saying,"All we need is more cow bell". I guess you had to be there.

As far as Danica running in Cup, Bootie Barker did a piece on her a few months ago. He said she would be chewed up and spit out with the intense competition level Nascar currently has. He was pretty adament about it too!

Sorry I wasn't trying to be a flame about this. She is a cutey, a good driver but I tend to agree with the Bootie Barker line of thinking. Initially anyway she couldn't make it with the big boys. We are a rough tough group (Thank you Busch Bros.) and I would think that with no stock car type experience she wouldn't amount to much ..... initially. After some training and good equipment that could change. I'm sure Letterman has her on a good long contract and rightfully so.

As for some NASCAR beauties .... yeah the male gender doesn't have a lot of choices. Maybe that is why my wife lets me sit in front of the TV for hours on end over the weekend !!!!
