Does Danica deserve the hype ? Probably not. She's not the best driver in IRL, but she's better than about half of them. Does she promote the sport ? You betcha ! Indy racing has enjoyed a surge of popularity in the past two years and she's (at the very least) part of the reason.

Only by sex appeal does she promote-not necessarily the sport but herself! Nothing against her.

Ironically that is the same basic reason some drivers in NASCAR are disliked. Not because of sex appeal (at least not for me !!!) but the darlings of the media have made some drivers far more important than they really are. I won't name names ... you already know who they are.
