| Koni Challenge I don't know if any of you cayght the Koni Challenge race from Mid Ohio Course this weekend past. It was the first time I ever watch the series and I was impressed. Basically stock cars in two classes, V8 and 6cyl rear wheel drive and 4 and 6 cyl fwd cars in the other. Lots of Mini's, Cobalts, Acruas, BMW's and Pontiacs, Mustangs. They are pretty stock, with opening doors, head and tail lights and wipers. They put on a pretty good show. THis weekend they'll be the opening act for the IRL at The Glen. If you get a chance to watch them I think you'll be surprised. They prove that stock cars, even stock appearing cars, can put on a very good race. NA__AR, please take note.

| Re: Koni Challenge SPEEDTV. They ran in the rain and it was a little sloppy but I could see potential. |

| Re: Koni Challenge Quote:
The cars are basically what Duck, DOF and I are advocating over in the NA__AR Forum. They give the appearance of being showroom stock. I'm not sure what the rules on the engine specs are but it appears that if you have a RWD 8 or 6 and your car falls inside of a wheelbase parameter, you run in one class. If you drive a FWD 4 or 6 and your car falls within another wheelbase parameter, you run in another class. I went to the site: KONI , and it looks as though they have around seventy separate teams! It looks like just about what I'd like to see NA__AR turn into, kind of an American version of the WTCC or the BTCC. What is nice about these, beside the stock appearance, is the fact that they are small enough to put on a good show on road courses, even one as narrow as Mid-Ohio. I've already e-mail'd SPEEDTV twice begging for them to be shown this weekend from Watkins Glen. |
