A 12-year-old girl was severely burned Saturday here at the local dirt track, when her mini sprint car flipped over and caught fire. Her dad is a driver here in Oklahoma, and she was really looking forward to following in his footsteps. This was her first race in that effort. So if you don't mind, please say a prayer for her and her family to make it through this.

sad to see one so young hurt so badly. it's stories like this that help to remind us of the danger involved that we too often overlook in the sport we love.

burns are not fun .. I know from personal experience .. but the technology has made great strides since my incident in 1969..
