Zak Brown, of Just Marketing in Indianapolis announced on Wind Tunnel (SPEED) tonight that tomorrow morning an official announcement will be made that DirectTV will become the IRL Series sponsor effective within thirty days.

Good deal. This is something IRL desperately needs. At least it's not a "Here-today-gone-tomorrow" telcomm sponsorship that some major series' get.

They do that and it'll kill the series.

Same if they make it available only on satellite.

It's much better to get royalty monies from the re-broadcast networks and let them sell the commercial time. Plus, I don't think DirectTV has film crews and announcers/pit reporters, etc...they'd end up hiring one of the networks to do it anyway...
