Five Flags and Snowball get Award

Best Annual Short Track Racing Event
Every December for decades, some of the best short track racers in the country head to the panhandle of Florida to race. Some racers who don’t even run Super Late Models build a car just to run in that one event every season. Big names enter the event in an effort to revisit their roots and stars are made out of young drivers who can show well there.
This race is the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway and Speed51.com fans have voted it as the best annual event in short track racing.

Best Promoter
Just about every race car driver in the land dreams of running their own race track someday. They brag of how they would run things on their watch, but few ever put their money where their mouths are. Fewer still are successful at it.
An exception is Tim Bryant, who took over at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola a few years ago. He was the promoter at first and eventually became the track owner.
The Speed51.com fans recognized Bryant’s achievements and voted him as the Promoter of the year in this edition of the 51s

Re: Five Flags and Snowball get Award

Since the track is only around 30 miles from my house, I kind of consider this one of my "Hometown tracks."

and with any luck at all, we'll see you there sometime this year...date is open, but we're hoping to make one of the Blizzards and possibly try to get in the Snowball.
