Anyone have any predictions or "hopes" for the 2008 NHRA series?
Will "The Sarge" repeat AGAIN (looks good so far)?
How about Doug Herbert will he regroup (lets hope)?
Will Hillary Will find a sponsor (crazy not to have one)?
How about Scelzi and Capps? (not much mentioned about them yet)

Just your thoughts.... The Gator Nationals were great!

Hillary Will went took some steps this weekend to entice a sponsor to join up!

And Dave Connolly better get a sponsor soon. How the #3 in the points last year not have sponsorship???? I may be biased, being a fan of his, but what the hell!!??

Of course I am rooting for Herbert for the obvious reasons.
I use to really get into it years ago and then kind of let it go. Started following it again last year and I like ESPN's coverage.
Phils, maybe you can answer this for me because I can't remember but whatever happened to Gibbs NHRA team? Did they just decide to close down or sell the team? When was his last year in the sport? Do you know the reasoning for leaving? And who were his drivers, if I remember correctly Joe Amato drove top fuel... but I could be wrong.

I forget Giibs last year. I am thinking around 98-99. Tommy Johnson Jr took over mid season after they let Cruz go, and Cory Mac was Top Fuel.

They shut it down to concertrate on NASCAR. I'm a big NASCAR fan, but I was dissappointed to see them quit NHRA.

During ESPN's coverage of the Gator Nationals, they did a real nice segment on Doug and the death of his sons. They even showed pictures of the car they were in. Man was that car destroyed. Usually, I'm a Brandon Bernstein fan, but this year I think I'm gonna pull for Doug to win it all for his boys.

Yeah me too. I always liked him but he was never one of my favs just because they didn't talk to him or about him too much in the past or should I say as much as they did with some of the others.
But I'm a fan now... How could someone not be. It will be hard for him to win the championship thou.
I wish I could have seen that segment, I watched the whole thing non stop and as soon as the segment came on.... the damn phone rings!!!

I would be cool with Doug, he would be a sentimental favorite. I missed that piece this week!!

have to say I was riveted to the TV during that segment. you could see the pain in Doug's eyes as he talked about the incident.
