As most NHRA fans may have heard, NHRA Top Fuel Driver Doug Herbert lost both of his sons the other day, ages 17 and 12. I can't imagine what he must be going through at this time. I hope all motor sports fans will extend thier prayers to the Herbert Family.

Also, I found this article on "Thatsracin.com". A site dedicated to NASCAR racing, but often covering the NHRA as well. It is a well written piece by David Poole, that shed's a lot of light on Doug, and certainly told me many things I didn't know about him.

Tragic. I had a nephew killed at a young age in an auto accident. Thankfully I have never had to deal with the loss of a child. Prayers to Doug's family.

They are in my prayers. I can say from experience that losing a child is the hardest thing to live through.

sounds like a good guy. sometimes bad things happen to good people. but it looks like he has found a way to channel his grief into good. it will be interesting to see how this year turns out for him.
