It was Speed Racer and Kimba the White Lion for me.

Yeah, Kimba...I was going to mention Kimba...but Prince Planet was this kid that had a big medallion with a P, and he would power up into a ro-bo type superhero...he fought something like three major villians...and on the last three shows of the series he defeated them.

yeah. being the oldest in my clan I remember that push mower to this day.

I also remember my first encounter with "crash and burn" was while trying to master riding my bike with my feet on the handlebars .. major road rash. think I was the last of my buddies to do it...'course the grounding by mom for attempting such a trick seriously delayed my accomplishing the trick. never did master "Superman" off the house roof, though...didn't like being near the edge and looking down.......

but I hold the record among the neighborhood kids: never broke a bone nor knocked a tooth out!

re: Speed Racer - when it came out I was proudly chasing girls in my US Gov't issued sailor suit .. no time for cartoons.

Heck, I would watch it everyday as an 8 yearold...long before cable...when you had little choice...Big Speed Racer fan...that and Prince Planet which was the other Japanese animated cartoon at the time...though I have never run across another person who remembers Prince Planet...
