| Big Money Man Schatz Scores Another $50k In Australia GRANVILLE, NSW (January 6) - In 2007, Donny Schatz dominated the big money races starting in Australia and continuing through the World of Outlaws (WoO) season. On Sunday night, the two-time defending Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car series champion started 2008 in the same fashion by picking up the $50,000-to-win Bevelite Glass Classic at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (TPCR) near Sydney. It marked the sixth time in the event's seven year history that Schatz was crowned the winner. He raced the Rush Racing No. 15 J&J with Shaver-built Chevrolet power from his third starting position in the 40-lap race. On lap ten, he took the lead from Robbie Farr and never looked back en route to his fifth consecutive win in the $50,000 event and his fourth win in five starts at TPCR this season. "That's what we're here for," said Schatz to the capacity crowd. "We always like to come back here and give it another shot. I've got to thank (the fans) for sticking with us after the rain." Sunday's finale was originally scheduled for Saturday night, but late afternoon rain forced TPCR officials to postpone the program until Sunday. more...
