Formula Renault Asia Cup championship winning team, Asia Racing Team (ART) Motorsports has invited Malaysia's promising young driver Nik Iruwan to test one of its Formula Renault cars at the Zhuhai International Circuit, China for two days this weekend. It will be the first time for the Kelantanese driver to test with a Tatuus built Renault powered car.


"The team has been in talks with me after my last race in Europe last year and they have shown great interest in getting me to test their cars. I've heard a lot of good things about Art Motorsports and with my experience, I hope I can help the team prepare for the new season", said Nik Iruwan.


The confirmation of the test has ended speculation of Nik testing for Meritus Racing in the Formula V6 Asia by Renault and a possible drive in a full season program with the team. Nik chose to stick to his plans and believes a season in Formula Renault Asia Cup will keep his racing career on track. "I've said many times that I would like to race at the front end and fight for wins in 2008. I believe Art Motorsports has the package to give me just that and this test will give us the opportunity to work together for the coming season. My commitment for the team is already a sign of how good the team really is", added Nik Iruwan.
