STUTTGART, Germany (AP) - McLaren will unveil its new Formula One car on Jan. 7, and will test two models a day later on a track in Spain's Jerez.

The MP4-23 will be presented in Stuttgart at the Mercedes Benz Museum, the first time the team's official presentation will take place in the home town of the German carmaker, which supplies the car's engine.


"Our team has continued to develop at race speed and has worked extremely hard," Mercedes motor sports chief Norbert Haug said.
McLaren's two drivers next season will be Lewis Hamilton, this year's runner-up, and Finland's Heikki Kovalianen, who will replace departed former world champion Fernando Alonso.


McLaren's presentation comes a day after Ferrari and world champion Kimi Raikkonen reveals the team's new model at the Italian company headquarters in Maranello. Three days later, on Jan. 10, Toyota will present it new car in Cologne, Germany.
