| Re: F1 trio (Andretti, Lauda, Mosley) say spy scandals good for F1 I gotta agree with each of the 3 people quoted. Many people will follow the scandals because they're news. Some of them will become fans. The more fans a sport has, the better for the sport .. financially. HOWEVER, if you look at Mosley's statement, I think he may be whistling past the graveyard, so to speak. There are those who thrive on scandal as well as those who despise unfairness, especially in a sanctioning body. And many people see unfairness in the way the whole espionage problem was handled and disbelief in the FIA's self righteousness that it did everything correctly. How can it be considered fair when McLaren is imposed a heavy fine and stripped of all constructor's points, but Renault receives a slap on the wrist for essentially the same offense? (WMSC " imposes no penalty due to the lack of evidence that the Championship has been affected.") In other words, as long as the Championship is not affected, teams are free to break as many rules as they desire without consequence! The FIA and their WMSC certainly possess a "new enlightenment" as it pertains to enforcing rules.
