Motogp to follow F1 & ban Traction Control.

BBC - 606 - - A30354040 - Motogp to follow F1 & ban Traction Control.

by klotnews 21 December 2007

i just read on autosport that Carmelo Ezpeleta, motogp's equivalent of Berni, is thinking of banning traction control and introduce ECU. Considering how the rise of intensified electronic use has dramatically changed motogp races, do you think that the likes of stoner, pedro, and the new gradguates from 250 will find it harder without it. The oldschools, like Rossi, are pushing to ban t.c. I myself would like to see t.c. out of the sport, but i think, unlike F1, it would be harder to ban T.C. from motogp. Ducati, for example, will fight hard to keep t.c. Of all the teams Ducati are very invested in electronics to mange their engine. They were able to achieve top speed and acceleration dominance this year because of their ingenious integration of electronics with their desmodromic valve system. Thus, i don't think they would welcome the introusion of the ECU. I hope Carmelo prevails, or at leas is serious about it.

Traction control on a motorcycle? I give up. Modern technology has officially passed me by.

It's even more advanced than in F1, and it's got a way of force inducing just the right amount of wheelspin.
