Pennsylvanias contribution to "Down Under" Racing

Who’s our “Down Under” forum participant here on GTG? Here’s one for ya to enjoy if tracks and events mentioned are in your area and you’re not one of the – if it ain’t on TV I don’t see and know all and everything there ever was to know about it – “fans”. Good Lord those types irritate the crap out of me.

Had the pleasure / privilege to race with/against Michael when sons raced Quartermidget. His Dad always gave him nice equipment, and Michael seemed always to get all out of it there was to get. Nice kid, good little racer. No longer a “kid” I suppose.

20 year old Michael Carber of Pipersville, PA will be making the trip “Down Under” yet again to complete his 2007 racing season. Carber is scheduled to leave in late December from the States to return to Brisbane in Queensland Australia.

Once there he will pilot John Weatherall’s Motorguard Motorsports # 95 Maxim Chassis 410 Sprintcar. Weatherall’s car is currently driven by Garry Brazier of Queensland.

Michael will take over once arriving for a month’s stay to Brisbane. Carber will compete in one race at Toowoomba Speedway, three USA races at Brisbane and a few scheduled World Series races. Michael will be joined by fellow American Daryn Pittman at Brisbane and then will join several Australian standouts as well as a few American World of Outlaw drivers at the World Series races.

Along with representing Motorguard Motorsports he will also strive to excel for the following sponsors Weatherall’s team currently carries; Casacat Electrical, Forbes Batteries, Kostecki Engine Center, Merv Tennant Painting, Motorguard National Car Warranty, P&M Body Repairs, and Repco.

Sounds like a great way for young Michael to "make his bones" in racing, while enjoying some good weather while PA is butt-deep in snow and ice.

I didn't know the WoO drivers were running Aus in our off season? The last driver I knew of to regularly make the trip was the CRA driver, "Sleepy" Tripp.

Thanks for the info.
