| Volkswagen brings diesel racing to North America Testing the waters in North America, Volkswagen will present a new racing series in 2008 by setting a new precedent in motorsports. The German manufacturer will take the show on the road with a technology that is starting to take hold with the public for two reasons -- better fuel mileage and helping to protect the air quality. The first ever all-diesel powered racing series will hit the tracks in 2008 with the formation of the Jetta TDI Cup, sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Pro Racing department. The idea of showcasing the power and performance of its new clean diesel technology is even unique to VW. Motorsport.com: News channel

I wish the SCCA was better about promoting races .. just seems to be in their genes not to... tell you what, between now and the end of March, lets see how many SCCA press releases we can find; not drivers/teams running in SCCA events, but press releases from the SCCA. (I hope we find a bunch and prove me wrong!)
