| Smith secures new team for 2008 Briton Bradley Smith has signed a deal to ride for a leading team in the 2008 MotoGP World 125cc Championship. The 16-year-old prospect will ride for Polaris World on one of the factory Aprilia machines that have dominated this season's championship. Smith, who is competing for Repsol Honda this year, said: "I'm proud to have been made such a brilliant offer. "To race on a slightly more competitive machine with the support of such a professional team will be fantastic." BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Motorbikes | Smith secures new team for 2008

| Re: Smith secures new team for 2008 This has nothing to do with Smith but the article sparked a question. Does anyone here know what ever became of Kevin Schwantz? He was a Texan and was the 500cc GP champ back around 1989 or so, then started a NASCAR career around 1995. I know he ran several BGN races and had some fairly good finishes, then he just disappeared from the radar screen and I never heard his name again? Anyone know whatever happened to the boy?

| Re: Smith secures new team for 2008 Quote: Did you read the entire article, Duck? If so how did you like the following: Gerhard Berger and Michael Schumacher were there riding as well. Gerhard was testing for Gunter Weisinger and not getting many laps on the bikes. He seemed to be having fun but not enjoying himself as much as he could. Schumacher rode all day on the Ducati in and out of the pits, close to 60-laps. I think he impressed quite a few people? That was interesting. |
