Hey, you guys are entitled to your opionion. I just wish the women who race would be considered a good (or bad) driver regardless of their sex.

No harm, no foul, my friend. Don't worry ... I get it!

I agree but tell me this. Why do these women allow themselves to be photographed in what can be considered sexually provoking poses ? They are just as much at fault for being viewed as something less than an automobile racer, as the gazers are for gawking at them. I don't want this to get way off topic but at least consider why ?????

Oh, I absolutely agree! Publicity is a nasty demon. If they pose for provocative photos, then that's their choice, or their sponsor's. Perhaps it's to gain fans, all for the wrong reasons, as far as I'm concerned.

Sponsors or not I believe when it comes to these provocotive photos there is a choice to be made by the person being photographed. To gain respect for ones chosen field you need to follow that line. When you try to improve your public image with sexual conotations you're going to get just what you ask for. All of these female drivers that do such poses are just tossing aside their desire to be respected as race car drivers.

Agreed. And too bad for the future of females in this or any sport!

Believe it or not, the reason I noticed both Ms. Patrick & Ms. Force at first WAS because of their talent and ability. And I know you won't want to read this, but it's just an added bonus that they're 'babes'.

No, no! The fact that you think they are "babes" is fine with me. I just hope their talent supersedes their sexuality. Follow me?

Now see that is where this whole issue is a double edged sword. Any woman who has made it that far in the "Mans world" more than likely has a good share of talent. Somewhere when they got to the top of their game they caved under the pressure of many others, whether it be sponsors, owners or media. I have no issue with women in sports that have for years been perceived as a mens only club. I don't want them in my locker room, but lets be realistic ... if they can drive, hit a ball, catch a pass or putt a golf ball then good. Do it !! There is just no need for thought provoking poses .... unless you feel insecure in your place in your field. If it takes photos to maintain your popularity then maybe you just aren't that good at what you're supposed to be doing.

I so very much agree with your views on this subject. What about Carl Edwards? He definately played the "hunk" card. Even Kasey Kahne in that commercial with the cop and the girls making him wiggle his hips! That commercial actually made me angry. I know I'm looking in to this way too deeply, but I felt that commercial made female cops look mighty unprofessional. I'm probably overly sensitive because I have a daughter who is taking all the Civil Service exams for law enforcement right now. Both sexes play up the sex appeal aspect of their popularity. It takes away from the real issue, for sure - their talent or lack their of.

Well as long as we are going in this direction I will add yet another tidbit. First I do agree that even when a guy does the same thing it is wrong. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy a nice looking lady but when it comes to mixing sexuality with your job .. I just don't see it as a good mix.

My other big issue is that some womens groups today are real wound up over the fact that there are rapists just walking around out there. I see the point but what I don't get is why those same groups aren't going after the women that tease men with these photos. Far to many men think with the wrong brain and when you silently encourage them with tantalizing photos, you are just as guilty.

Now because I think I have veered way off topic I will make this my last post in this thread about this subject. If anyone is interested in pursuing it maybe we can start a thread about this subject and let this thread be more about Ashley Force beating dear ole' Dad

Careful, my friend. Rapists? We should take this off-line.

That's part of why I said I'd no longer comment
