Re: Habs to retire #33? His statistics and ability certainly warrant the honour but I'm not so sure his attitude toward the hockey club does. I think he disgraced himself and the Montreal team when he walked off the ice after Tremblay wouldn't pull him. Why would he flee the entire organization over Tremblay's idiocy. (he was fired shortly after anyway) This is only one black eye on Roy. Allegations of spousal abuse and his son Jonathan's absolute meltdown in a Quebec league game are a couple more. I have mixed feelings but ultimately, I'd say no to the idea. Colorado has already retired it and to be honest, I don't even know if Roy would show up at the Bell centre and to what reaction?

Re: Habs to retire #33? I read the Star article. It was surprising to hear him say he'd be honoured although it has been 13 years or something since he left. It's funny how and who teams choose to retire. Colorado retired Bourque's sweater for instance after his short time with them yet Montreal takes years to retire Roy.

Re: Habs to retire #33? yeah I know, that's what I thought. The only thing I can think of is the hype surrounding him and his right to a stanley cup. And Colorado being a cup contender and a relatively new franchise, lets have Ray Bourque night and cash in.
