Habs lose...again

I think the tagline alone will suffice, I've lost my imagination.

Re: Habs lose...again

yeah. feel rotten this morning as I am sure Habs fans do everything especially in Montreal.
It was great and then Price let a couple in and went phhhhhffft like a balloon.
It was over.
I wonder if they just had it all taken out of them after the Bruins match-up. because they are a better team than this.
Still - i will say, they had an amazing season. Kovalev is one of my most admired players after watching him this season (he should be up for some award), and the kostitsyns will only get better.
carbonneau still deserves the coaching award.

Re: Habs lose...again

Yeah you're right. I though Kovalev was a very strong candidate for the Hart. I mean, there's some pretty stiff competition but he pulled it off so many times this season and we wound up first in the east. I also thought he was key in the development of A. Kostitsyn and Plekanec. Anyway, Price wasn't in it last night. When the wind of momentum is blowing straight into his face, he seems to let up a bit. He won some critical games this year but it seems when we're down by a considerable margin, be it in a game or a series, he lacks a fighting attitude and focus that is key. Look at Lundqvist today and in game 4. Incredible. He didn't give up and Price shouldn't have either.

It wasn't the coach at all. It was the players. He just sat back and did nothing.

Oli, how do you have any idea what Carbonneau is doing? I don't know where you get your ideas from.

Okay, maybe I shouldn't put it that way. Washington coach put the Capitals into the playoffs. Montreal already had a lot of talent.

Re: Habs lose...again

They had a lot of talent because Carbonneau has worked with the team all season! Why give credit to Boudreau (he had Ovechkin - gee work with him and see what you get) and not to carbonneau? Is this some kind of allergy you have toward men who dress snazzy? To good looking French dudes? To guys who paid their dues in the NHL and learned their stuff and won some Cups and now are successfully teaching that to others?
Or is it just an anti montreal thing you have going there?
Carbonneau is as much a coach as Boudreau and babcock.
And I say, just a little more.

He didn't do anything to the team but loose a good goaltender, and Bondreau got Federov, a LEGEND, Huet, a great goaltender, and he made his players step up. One player can't make a play off difference. It took Semin, Backstrom, Huet, Federov, and Ovechkin.
Oh yea, and Montreal had Koivu, Price, Kovalev, the Koistytsins (sorry if I spelled it wrong), Higgins and more.
I wont do anything anti-Montreal. That's just dumb to do that.

Re: Habs lose...again

Carbonneau doesn't make the trades in Montreal, Bob Gainey does so if anyone lost a good goalie here, That would be the latter of the two. Gainey would stick by his decision though and so would I. I won't bore you with my justification again.

you are confused between the role of a GM and the role of a coach.
Habs played their hearts out and played well. Because they didn't get to the semis doesn't mean carbonneau wasn't doing his job.

Re: Habs lose...again

Oh wow I missed that. But didn't the Caps coach get Backstrom, Semin, and even Ovechkin going? Koivu and everyone else I mentioned did well already.
