Habs could've finished the bruins off

and they didn't.
The turning point? Price's horrible mistake. he clipped the puck neatly from the air at one side of his net, and I thought, Nice one, and he turns and drops it for one of his teammates on the other side of the net - except there are 2 Bruins there as well, and Metropolit snags it and scores because Price is about three feet out from the net. he doesn't even get his head turned around to see the goal.
From that point - and before this goal it was 1-1 - there was no life left in the canadiens.
Had to stop watching at 4-1.
End score 5-1.
Glenn what do you think?
I'm not pointing a big ugly finger at Price - the commentator said There is the first Rookie Goalie mistake - because I've seen a lot of goalies, new and ancient, do the same - but this one event sucked the life out of the Habs and breathed new life into the Bruins.

They lost 5-1...how can they blame that on one goal alone?...I understand the momentum shifted....but 5-1 is a whole team letting down.

I didn't say the whole team didn't let everyone down. What i'm saying is, there are often turning points and that one goal change the whole feel of the game. it was so close and this happened and the energy shifted.

Yeah, you could just see the life drain out of the team. They start playing desperate, take a dumb penalty, get scored on again, and on and on... What a drag for Montreal fans. What boost for fans of the B's.

Re: Habs could've finished the bruins off

I stopped watching at 3-1. Pretty depressing. For the third game in a row, our offence sucked. In this particular game, Kovalev's goal led to a couple more decent chances but then Montreal started protecting a one goal lead. You can't build momentum that way. The whole second period was a write off for our team. That period gave Boston an edge and they were just waiting for the habs to make a mistake. Maybe not to the magnitude of Price's gaffe but it happens. I blame the whole team and I'm not worried about Price. Bob Gainey is the voice of reason and he'll sit down and have a talk with the young goalie. Habs in 6, bring on Philly (and please let us start scoring some goals) In Bob we trust.

Sniff sniff! I smell a comeback!
If Boston wins that will be the funniest thing I have ever saw.
